Waterjet sheet cutting — an alternative to blade cutting, chosen to suit the requirements of the production. Mains water passes through a filter, a booster raises the pressure to the working level, and an energy converter with a sapphire nozzle forms a fine jet at about 800 m/s. The cutting energy comes from converting pressure into kinetic energy. A separate make-up pump keeps the water supply continuous.
