What arrives with the batch

Steel without papers is steel without provenance. The set is assembled at the mill and in the bureau before shipment.

  1. 01

    Mill test certificate (MTC)

Heat number, chemical composition, mechanical properties, standard. Checked against the bundle tag at inspection.

What to check: the heat number on the tag matches the certificate; the standard and grade are those written in the contract; the EN 10204 certificate type is the one agreed before the contract. The fields are shown on the sample below.

  2. 02

    Inspection report with photos

Measurements, marking, packing, weight, bundle numbers. Drawn up at the mill before shipment.

Measurements per bundle, bundle numbers, photographs. The bureau decides on the report whether the batch ships; you receive it before the steel leaves the mill.

  3. 03

    Specification and packing list

Items, sizes, quantity and weight per bundle: what the warehouse acceptance is checked against.

Weight and quantity per bundle. Checked against the scale weight at acceptance; a discrepancy beyond the standard’s tolerance is recorded in the acceptance report.

  4. 04

    Certificate of origin

Confirms the mill and country of manufacture for customs clearance.

Issued by the chamber of commerce of the country of manufacture on the exporter’s application. Required by customs; the bureau files the application and includes the document in the set.

  5. 05

    Customs clearance

Declaration, HS codes and certification in Uzbekistan are handled by the bureau.

Declaration, HS codes and certification in Uzbekistan are handled by the bureau. Copies of the documents stay with you.

  6. 06

    Acceptance report

Drawn up at your warehouse against the specification and scale weight. Closes the delivery.

Drawn up at your warehouse against the specification and the scale weight, signed by both sides. Defects confirmed by report are replaced: the producing mill supplies the replacement under its contract with the bureau.

3.1 and 3.2 are not interchangeable; the type is agreed before the contract

Under EN 10204 a 3.1 certificate is issued and signed by the mill; a 3.2 certificate is signed by the mill and an independent inspection body. A project that needs 3.2 writes it into the contract: once signed, one type cannot be swapped for the other.

Replacement of defects

Defects confirmed by report are replaced: the producing mill supplies the replacement under its contract with the bureau. The basis is the acceptance report with discrepancies and photographs; the bureau pursues the replacement, and correspondence with the mill is not your concern.

Inspection table: micrometer, tag and mill certificate

The heat number on the certificate is checked against the bundle tag

A certificate whose heat number does not match is a paper about different steel. That is why the inspector checks the number before shipment, not the receiver after.

How a delivery runs

Price request

Send your specification and we will quote your batch

Steel pricing depends on grade, size, tonnage and delivery terms on the day of contract. A number on the page would be wrong by the time you read it.
